Sesame is proud to present The Sublime, the second solo exhibition for Jon Braley.

Follow the resounding success of his first show in 2004, The Sublime tracks the progress of Jon Braley’s painting in his pursuit to capture the raw experience of nature in paint.

The style of Jon’s work has developed considerably over the past 18 months, towards a more understated approach to abstraction. By combining forceful bursts of colour with a daring use of darkness and a more sparing delivery of detail, the new works convey a sense of depth, distance, mystery, and intrigue. These paintings hide more than they reveal, hinting at something larger, grander and more powerful behind the paint. This is the Sublime: the awesome and overwhelming power of nature, at once majestic and foreboding.
